Forget your excuses, and start that workout!

I'm sure everyone has their favorite excuses when it comes to skipping one (or more) workouts. We have no time. We don't have the mood. Or we simply don't feel the effects of our efforts.

But if you listen to these excuses, I can assure you, you won't ever see any results - not in half a year, and not in one whole year, or any time. It's worth getting over procrastination and fit regular physical activity into your schedule. That's the only way to reach your goals.

Excuse No. 1.: Working out doesn't feel good
Solution: Plan a longer stretching phase at the end of your workout. If you know that the last 10-15 minutes will consist of easy stretching and some relaxation you tend to tolerate the things which are to come before that. Many experts say that the last impression is the one to last the longest, so if the end of your training programme feels good, it will stick to your mind for a longer period. And it is also good to know that only the start is hard: if you get used to regular activity, you will miss training if you have to skip one. Which means: not a single excuse again.

Excuse No. 2.: I will look and feel awkward among the perfect-figured Barbie-dolls in the gym
Solution: That's an excuse you should forget about immediately. Most of the people who go to a gym don't go there tho show off with their stylish sports gear. They are there for the same reason as you: they want to get slimmer, fitter and healthier. There are only a very few perfect-figured people there. The goal is not to perform all the exercises perfectly during the class, but to develop. And the only way to develop is to make mistakes, like missing the choreography or not doing the first exercises perfectly, so the trainer has to correct you. Believe me, no one will laugh at you, everyone started the same way.

Excuse No. 3.: I have no time
Solution: There is no all or nothing when it comes to workouts. On the contrary, every little bit counts. If you absolutely don't have any time at all, go for a brisk walk for 10 minutes or take the stairs instead of the elevator. It's much better than sitting at home and feeling sorry for yourself and your lack of time. You don't even have to change your clothes for that. Don't sit at the bank of the playground sandbox, rather run after your child. Or just lift the baby up for a few times, and you have already made some efforts with your arm muscles. The ideas could come in an infinite row, you just have to use your imagination.

Excuse No. 4.: I don't see any results
Solution: Try a workout that moves the muscles of your upper and lower body at the same time - like step-aerobic, swimming or nordic walking. This way you have double the work in the same amount of time, before you even feel it. According to researchers training feels actually easier if you use your hand and legs at the same time.

Excuse No. 5.:I have tried to make it regular for a few times, but I never succeeded
Solution: Concentrate on the points where you succeeded instead of concentrating on the ones where you failed. Every time when you get your gear together and go to the gym or start a fitness DVD at home is a success. Try to have more of it!
